Throughout the day snipers outside stop you from leaving your sanctuary, so you have to focus on preserving your hideout: crafting, trading and looking after your survivors. During the night, take one of your civilians on a mission to scavenge through a set of unique places for items that will help you survive.
Make life-and-death choices driven by your conscience. Aim to secure everybody from your shelter or give up a few of them for longer-term survival. Throughout war, there are no great or bad choices; there is only survival. The sooner you understand that, the much better.
